The film absolutely basks in British period piece detail, from the impeccable grounds, majestic architecture, elaborate costumes and decor, but it is the deliciously tart and witty observations in Ms Austen’s words that bring the film together. Kate Beckinsale delivers Lady Susan’s bon mots with barbed precision, for our refined, and not always so refined, pleasure. If Austen done in period style is your cuppa, Most Highly Recommended.
